About Us
The Graduate Student Life (GSL) group was borne out of the observation that there was simply no cross-discipline, all-encompassing graduate student group at Portland State University. When we started to articulate our needs and goals with this group, we realized that our main goals were to enable (both for ourselves and future graduate student members):
- - Community
- - Resources
- - Networking
To this end, we decided that we would like to accomplish this with as little time commitment as possible since the typical graduate student is over-committed already. As a result, our general forum and schedule is an hour meet at a local brew-house every two weeks. Our meetings tend to be informal, but efficient in that we can speak from our own experiences and, collaborate for solutions using the organization and structure of a student group.
